Welcome to AMES!
In this world where even the bathroom stalls bombard us with corporate driven
values, AMES is a part of an inspiring movement to take control of the digital
images that surround us. We are dedicated to providing access to media to
marginalized people. This
spring our Peers Perspective program and its facilitators won the
Canadian Race Relations Foundation award for Best Practices in
anti-racism. We have also recently launched our Resources for Change
website where educators can share lessons plans and ideas. This
fall, the Smoke Screen 2: Through the Eyes of New Canadians documentary and resource package was distributed to ESL educators and high school counselors throughout the province.
Check out all these programs
on our website and join us in the reclamation of this powerful medium.
